A Tractor 3rd Function Diverter Valve is installed in series with an existing hydraulic circuit on your tractor (typically your bucket tilt/curl function) and, when activated, temporarily diverts flow to an additional function, such as operation of a grapple or angle blade. The valve operates by way of an electric solenoid that actuates the diverter. This is generally a more straight forward and less expensive option than a Tractor 3rd Function Dedicated Valve. However, it does require that some functions are temporarily disabled while other functions are activated.
A Tractor 3rd Function Dedicated Valve is a separate, additional valve assembly that works independently of the other hydraulic valves on your tractor. This allows you to operate the additional valve functions separately from any existing hydraulic functions on the tractor. A Tractor 3rd Function Dedicated Valve typically requires more components and time to install than a Tractor 3rd Function Diverter Valve, but has the advantage of allowing you to use all functions simultaneously, if needed.
